Andrew Carl Sliwinski Memorial Scholarship

Andrew Carl Sliwinski Memorial Scholarship

The Andrew Carl Sliwinski Memorial Scholarship was established to help a deserving student fulfill their dream of completing their education in the NASCAR Technical Institute Ford Fact program. Andrew, or “Andy” as most people called him, loved cars, Harley’s, and racing, was artistically creative and had fun, even at work. Born July 13, 1967, Andy was a loving husband and father who after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away on August 16, 2007 at the age of 40. Andy was loyal to the Ford car, as his father worked for the Ford Company in Buffalo, NY while Andy was growing up. In his 20’s, Andy rebuilt a ’66 Ford Mustang from the frame up. To the best of his ability, Andy was very careful to remain true to color, style, parts, etc. He took pride in details and quality of work and gave his best in whatever he did. Andy knew his motors and learned to listen to them which he used to his advantage while diagnosing a problem. He enjoyed taking courses to further his knowledge and to remain current with the automotive industry. Andy had a way about him that people liked and admired; he was a hard worker, an honest man and a caring provider for his family. This grant honor’s Andy’s life and fulfills his wish to help others who have the same passions.
